Renters Insurance

Protection for Condos & Renters

You’ve built a nice home with everything you love inside, so be sure to protect them with the same love and care that helped you create it.

When your homeowner’s association covers the exterior of your building but you’re still responsible for the interior, you need an HO-6 or Condo Policy. Our Condo Policy helps protect the portion of your condo or townhome for which you are responsible for (inside structure, permanent fixtures, cabinets, etc.). Condo policies are HO-6 compliant, and cover family liability as well as cover your personal belongings against covered perils such as fire, theft, vandalism and more. We’ll help to make sure you have the protection you need to get you back to the point before you had the loss. Call us today for a quote!

Our Renters Policy is specifically for those that are renting an apartment, condo, townhouse or single-family home. This helps not only protect your personal belongings inside or outside your apartment from accidents such as, fire, theft, vandalism, but also gives you lawsuit protection with family liability.

Give us a call today to review how much coverage or what type of policy makes sense for where you live and what you own!

Aspect of Auto Insurance

When buying Auto Insurance, you have a lot of choices to make about the level of coverage and policy options. Our goal at Julie Hahn Agency is to help guide you through these decisions and help you get the coverage that fits your needs and budget. The following are the major components that make up your auto insurance:

Liability Coverage (Bodily Injury and Property Damage)

Liability coverage is your lawsuit protection and offers peace-of-mind. If you are found at-fault in an accident that’s covered by your auto policy and other people and/or property are injured or damaged, liability coverage helps protect you and pay the cost of these damages. It’s important to carry at least as much liability coverage as you have in assets. The limits you choose are the

insurance company’s limits and if more is owed, you could be personally liable for the difference and is why it is so important to carry the right amount of coverage for your personal situation. You would be surprised how little it can be to go up to a higher amount of coverage.

As an Agency, we recommend a minimum of 100/300 coverage for Bodily Injury (BI) Liability. This means that with this coverage, your policy would pay up to $100k per person (1st number) or $300k for all parties (2nd number) involved for the following expenses:

  • Medical expenses for bodily injury, including emergency aid at the accident scene
  • Compensation for lost income and legal defense fees
  • Funeral expenses

As an agency, we also strongly recommend a minimum of 50-100k coverage for Property Damage Liability. This coverage helps pay for damage to another driver’s vehicle or property that occurs due to an accident where you are found at-fault and can include:

  • Vehicle repair or replacement
  • Damage to homes, stores or other structures damaged during the accident

Medical Payment Coverage

Medical payment coverage helps pay for medical expenses for accident-related injuries, whether or not you are at-fault in the accident. These expenses can include hospital stays, doctor visits, x-rays, surgery, ambulance, and funeral expenses. Medical payment coverage is provided for you, your passengers, and your family members, and is the only coverage that follows you, not the vehicle.

Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist Coverage

This coverage helps pay for medical expenses when the other driver has little-to-no insurance. If you are hit by a driver that is uninsured or underinsured and you or a passenger in your vehicle is injured, your policy provides protection for an amount up to the amount of liability protection you choose.

NC law only provides coverage for Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage, which means that if someone hits your vehicle that has no insurance, your policy provides protection. However, you must prove that they did not have insurance coverage in order for this coverage to pay out.

SC law allows you to select one or both Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury (damage/injury to you) and Property Damage (damage to your vehicle)

Collision Coverage

Collision Coverage is physical damage coverage that protects your car if you’re in an accident where you collide with other cars or objects (structures, potholes, poles, fences, trees, etc.). Collision coverage helps pay for repairs to your vehicle up to the actual cash value of your car. Collision coverage allows you to choose a deductible, which would be the amount of out-of-pocket expenses you would be responsible for in a collision accident. It’s important to remember that the higher the deductible you carry, the lower your premium will be. However, keep in mind that a higher deductible will require you to pay more in the event of a loss. Our goal as an agency is to help you determine the best deductible option for your personal situation and goals.

Comprehensive Coverage

This coverage is also called “Other than Collision” because it includes many incidents and accidents other than a collision. This can include glass breakage, theft, vandalism, hail damage, something falling on your vehicle, hitting a deer/animal, storm/hurricane damage, and other covered losses that are sudden and accidental in nature with a specific date of loss. And just like Collision coverage, Comprehensive also carries a deductible, which is your out-of-pocket expense and can affect your premium. The same rule applies to Comprehensive as well, where a higher deductible = lower premium. An additional benefit we offer is to repair accidentally cracked/chipped windshields free of charge, where the chip/crack is no longer than 6 inches.

Other Auto Insurance Coverages

  • Towing and Labor – This coverage option reimburses you for the expense of roadside services, up to your limit (max of $100). This includes towing your vehicle, as well as other basic roadside services such as fuel delivery, changing a tire, lockout, etc.
  • Rental Car Reimbursement – This option is important if you would need a replacement vehicle after an accident, while your vehicle is undrivable and/or in the shop getting repairs, up to the time it is repaired and a max of 30 days.

Exclusive Insurance Features

Depending on the coverage you select or qualify for, many of the auto policies sold by Julie Hahn Agency offer these great features and benefits:

Accident Forgiveness

Most auto insurance policies would see a rate increase upon the next renewal following an accident. In NC, the department of insurance requires companies to charge SDIP points (Safe Driver Incentive Plan) that can increase your insurance by up to 70% for 3 years from a single accident. With our accident forgiveness your rates will not increase after an at-fault accident and keep you from getting the SDIP points in NC.

New Car Replacement

This is an optional endorsement you can add on to any new vehicle of current or prior year that is added on at the time of the new car or within the first 60 days. This endorsement protects

your new car if it gets totaled within the first three years and allows you to get a new car — not just the depreciated value.

Auto Insurance Discounts

Depending on the coverage you select or qualify for, many of the auto policies sold by Julie Hahn Agency offer these great features and benefits:
